MJ & Crew began its humble roots in the midwestern town of Sandwich, IL, hometown to Tim and Michelle Johnson where they raised their family of six.

Tim has been a high school history teacher and Michelle a hairstylist for over 30 years. Five years ago, Michelle decided to turn her naturally creative skillset into a new business venture, MJ & Crew.

What started as sewing and hand-painting custom pillows from her own home, quickly turned into hosting painted pillow workshops and monthly vendor booths at artisan markets. Michelle’s passion for pillows not only inspired her to take her talents on the road but to become more involved in her local community as well.

Michelle, better known as “MJ,” now owns Crew and Co., a charming three-story brick-and-mortar for modern country design. She also runs the Sunday at Sandwich vintage, antique, handmade, and more market from May to October on the Sandwich Fair Grounds.

With the help of her “crew,” consisting of her helpful husband and business partner Tim, four amazing children, dear friends, and family, Michelle is able to help others find new treasures, fun gifts, and unique ways to express their own creativity.
